Functions and Objectives

Functions:

  1. To collect the enrolment figures from SSA.
  2. To collect the enrolment figures from SEBA.
  3. Floating of e-Tender/NIT for procurement of paper.
  4. Process of paper testing through paper testing laboratories.
  5. Issue of supply order.
  6. Floating of Tender regarding printing of textbooks.
  7. Selection of eligible presses
  8. Offering printing order
  9. Monitoring of printing progress
  10. Sample copy received from presses and approval thereof
  11. Processing of paper & printing bills
  12. Storing of books received from various press at Central Godown
  13. Distribution of textbook from Central Godown to Educational Blocks as per requirement.

Objectives:

The primary aim and objective of the Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation Limited to ensure that standard textbooks, free from printing and publication errors, reach the students community of Assam in time. Mainly, with this aim, the Government of Assam established this Corporation in 1972. Since then, the Corporation has been unceasingly publishing and distributing textbooks, prepared in keeping with National Policy of Education among the school children of Assam. Subsequently, the Corporation has been successfully implementing the Free Textbook distribution schemes sponsored by Government of India since1986. And at present the Assam State Textbook Production and Publication Corporation Limited is printing and distributing Free Textbooks for student from Ka-sreni to class-XI-XII.
